FIELD DAY!!! |
Elementary and Intermediate students have been gearing up for weeks for the Annual Field Day tomorrow (May 16th). Coach Jameson and Coach Bundy work hard to prepare these kids for this fun filled day. Flyers should have gone home with the times for each campus (8:15 Elementary/12:15 Intermediate). Please make sure students wear tennis shoes, appropriate athletic clothing, and sunscreen. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend, but please follow guidelines on where to stand on the track and around the stadium so that the day runs smoothly. |

Academic Awards |
Just a reminder that Edgewood High School will be hosting the annual Academic Award ceremony tonight (May 15th) at 6:00 PM in the High School Library. Students receiving awards should have received a letter in the mail. |

Short Signs with McPherson |
Edgewood ISD would like to announce a student/athlete signing a letter of intent. C Short of Edgewood HS has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas. McPherson participates in the NAIA & is a long time member of the KCAC-(Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference). McPherson has an enrollment of 600 students in a tradition rich basketball town of 14,000 -45 miles north of Wichita. Click here to view picture |

2011-2012 Yearbook |
The final order for the 2011-2012 EISD yearbooks has been turned into the printer. If you ordered a yearbook with a deposit, please pay the balance due by the end of May. Questions may be addressed to spiveyt@edgewood.esc7.net. If you did not order a book, there will be a very limited number available when they arrive in the fall. Thank you for your continued support. Senior To-Do List |
The Spring Semester is very busy with athletics, academics, banquets, etc. in addition to preparing for the end of the 2011-2012 school year. For a Senior, it is an extremely busy time of year. Edgewood High School Administration has developed a to-do list to help relieve some of the stress for our Seniors. Please click below to print important dates and information for our Senior students. Athletic Physicals for 2012-2013 School Year |
Edgewood ISD will offer Athletic Physicals for boys and girls participating in athletics next year on Friday, May 18th, at 1:00 PM. Physicals are being offered for all CURRENT 6th thru 11th graders that plan to participate in athletics next year. Azalea Sports Clinic will conduct the physicals. The cost is $15. The boys physicals will be in the HS football locker room and the girls physicals will be in the HS girls varsity locker room. Students need to have their paperwork with them, filled out. The JH kids will go first. Required physical forms must be filled out completely with payment attached for a student to receive a physical. Physical forms may be located by clicking on Campus at the top of this page, choose High School, Extracurricular, Athletics. The forms are at the top of the page. Questions and Answers Regarding STAAR |
The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, or STAAR, will replace the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) program beginning in spring 2012. The STAAR program at grades 3–8 will assess the same grades and subjects as are assessed on TAKS. For high school, general subject-area TAKS tests will be replaced with twelve STAAR end-of-course (EOC) assessments. Edgewood ISD would like for you to understand the new STAAR testing.
